The Gun barista shoot out is about you, You against the clock in your own work environment. Produce 7 espressos, 7 Euro cappuccinos of a high standard (WBC, ABC standard) in a race against time. The barista starts and stops the timing clock. 1 judge tests the coffee quality, crema quality and depth, of espresso, depth of froth and temp of the euro cap. At the start... Beans in the grinder hopper but the doser chamber empty. . Cups etc on the machine Empty milk jugs can be on the bench and the milk may be ready to pour into jugs. Completed cups are placed on bench top either beside the machine or nearest area available. The fastest barista is "the gun" The public get to try the coffees.
Penalties
Penalty time added onto clocked finishing time. +5sec per cup, Bad crema +5 sec per cup, not meeting wbc standard for espresso shot +5 sec per cup, no depth of milk froth min 15cm +5 sec per cup, milk temp. +5sec per cup not silky milk +5sec dirty cup +5 sec excessive coffee wastage around grinder +5sec for dirty steam arm

The coffee, cups, milk, jugs, espresso machine , grinder and apron are supplied. The barsita has to bring his or her own tamper and wear normal attire suitable for their work place.
